Liriope Muscari 'Royal Purple'

Liriope Muscari 'Royal Purple', commonly known as Turf Lily, is easily grown in well drained soil in a sunny or semi shaded position.  It is a beautiful landscape plant that comprises of broad, grass like, dark green leaf blades forming into mounding clumps.  Bell shaped dark purple flowers are thickly clustered on spikes that rise up through the foliage.  Excellent as an edging plant or for rockers or borders.  Intense flower colour in a shaded site. Tolerates frost or coastal conditions.  Prefers well drained soil but tolerates most. Cut back foliage in winter if plant needs refreshing. Keep an eye out for snails. Fertilise with a slow release fertiliser in Spring.
